• Helping Men Gain Fashion Confidence

For most men fashion is on the low end of priorities, money, careers and sports take precedence.  In a recent article by the National Post called Many men have no idea how to dress properly, and they’re afraid to admit it  written by Dave Lackie for the Weekend Post this is what he has to say..."According to a recent survey (conducted confidentially for a men’s fashion label) — and despite the publication of dozens of men’s fashion how-to books, interactive websites and hundreds of blogs — learning the basics of how to dress well remains a challenge for a good majority of men."  Men feel over whelmed when it comes to dressing and appropriate style wear.  It wasn't always like this...take the hit TV show Mad Men for example which displays powerful men with great fashion sence.  "Two generations ago, fathers would teach their sons how to tie a half-Windsor knot, the proper way to shine a dress shoe and when to wear a French-cuffed dress shirt. "Hugo Boss’s Dawn Bellini has observed throughout her 16-year career in the men’s fashion business, that most men don’t want to look like they don't know what they're talking about which could make them look foolish, especially in the business world. So they don’t ask style questions in publicThey’ll come into the store on their own and wait for someone to approach them. Once they have established a rapport, they’ll ask a ton of questions — everything from what suit to buy to how to tie a bow tie. They really are eager to learn.”  In order for a man to be successful and taken serious in the business world he has to look current “The most important thing you need to understand is that dress clothes have changed dramatically in the last three years. The new suit silhouette fits much closer to the body, has a nipped waist and slimmer lapels. Overall, there is a lot less fabric than previous styles.”  Explains David Schuettenkopf of Hugo Boss Canada who says "a trim white dress shirt with a narrow tie looks appropriate in any business office around the globe. Add a white pocket square, quality watch and slim shoe and you will make a great first impression." (read more)
